SEARCHING THE INTERNET FOR HELP
- Try searching DEJANEWS. Dejanews is free public newsgroup search website. Dejanews archives all public news posts and replies back about two years. Chances are, you are not the first person with the problem you are having-so see what others have done to fix it in the past! This site is very helpful for finding the cause of various system error messages (search for the exact error message text here).
- Subscribe
to numerous, free, public microsoft.public.xxxxx newsgroups at news server msnews.microsoft.com or check the list of newsgroups provided by your ISP for these newsgroups. Other useful newsgroups are: alt.windows95; alt.windows98.

WHY THESE PAGES?
I created these pages in May of 1997 to serve a number of, what I hope are, useful purposes. The first is that I have noticed, in participating in the many of the Windows and DOS USENET newsgroups, that the same questions come up repeatedly-especially from new Windows 95 users. Second, many Windows 95/98 users are having problems running their faithful DOS programs via Win95/98. Third, many users of Win3.x and DOS have found (like I did) that there is little in the way of help for their problems on the internet now that the rest of the world has moved to Windows 95/98/NT. Lastly, when any of us are having computer problems we want answers NOW-not waiting for some company's tech support or an answer from a newsgroup. So then-I offer you these pages. I've tried to address the above issues and tried to structure this site in such a way to get you the answers fast!
